VERT INSIGHTS
The research behind
a more connected city.
Our phones have become essential to how we move through the world.
Maps. Payments. Tickets. Transportation. Communication.
When the battery dies, everything becomes harder.
VERT is building a network designed to keep people connected wherever they go.
01
The dead phone problem
A dead phone can disrupt your day.
72%of respondents in a UC Berkeley market study said they had forgotten their charger.
45%had experienced an important event when their phone ran out of battery.

02
People want to keep moving
Charging shouldn’t mean stopping.
79%of respondents said they preferred to charge their phone while on the move.
People don’t necessarily want to sit next to an outlet.
They want to keep going.
VERT insight

03
Location matters
Power is most useful when it’s nearby.
Research on shared power banks and tourism found that convenient locations, charging speed and pricing are important factors influencing usage.
Limited availability was also identified as a barrier.
VERT insight
The network is the product. One station is useful. A network makes power accessible throughout a destination.

04
Your phone is more than a phone
It’s your map. Your ticket. Your wallet. Your camera.
For travelers especially, staying connected can be part of the experience itself.
Shared power banks can provide convenient access to power without forcing people to stop what they’re doing.
VERT insight
A connected visitor is a visitor who can keep moving.
05
The network effect
One station is useful. A network is powerful.
Rent here → Use anywhere → Return to the network
The more locations available, the more useful the network becomes.
That’s why VERT isn’t focused on building individual charging stations.
VERT insight
We’re building access to power across the places people live, work, travel and play.
06
From research to real-world network
Turning insight into infrastructure.
Research points toward three simple principles:
ConveniencePower where people already are.
MobilityCharge without stopping.
AvailabilityA network people can rely on.
VERT brings those principles into the real world through locations across:
Tourism · Nightlife · Restaurants · Hotels · Events · Entertainment · Public Spaces
